The Town Tree

Taken in passing car outside the townhall.
Hurray! Grades are all set, now it's just the final few days
of projects, parties and nativity plays before we break up for Christmas
and head for home.

Spark

Strawberry taken today on her "kick" (="spark" in Swedish) sledge.
Sorry about the light, but it's dark now.

Wrapped up

Seven years ago the weather was probably like it is today.
Wind + snow = blizzard.

4 Jake

Normally I only post photos I have taken myself,
both of these were taken by the MOTH
(Man Of The House).
No idea when, but I happened to have them on my computer,
and I thought you might like to see a picture of our tractor
even if it is driverless.

Doctor, doctor

More old photos, taken in 2001 using props from the toy doctor's case.
Thank you doctors and nurses,
without you some of us wouldn't be here,
and thank you big sister for being so savvy.
And everyone else please keep watch,
learn the signs of
meningitis
child or adult, it strikes hard and fast,
but if you recognize the signs you can still beat it.

For my second year of blogging I shall aim to bore you with a selection of old digital photos.
This is MissT when she was little, taken sometime during the last millenium.

Happy 99th Birthday Gran!

Bonfire Night

We celebrated Guy Fawkes on Saturday.
I always thought it was a celebration of the fact
that somebody had tried to blow up Parliament.
And so I carry on the tradition celebrating the Guy
for at least trying.
Neither he nor I were very politically correct, I fear.

Birthday Pictures

They made me chocolate balls for breakfast
and laid the table with just napkins,
so I wouldn't have to do any washing up on my birthday.
Thank you Miss. T and Strawberry.
We are going to try and head for the woods today.
Back on Sunday.

Halloween Pictures

A spooky picture taken last week, after Miss T's drama class.

And this is appropriate for the time of year,
but I don't understand it, so if someone could explain I would be most grateful.

A year and a day

They sailed away for a year and a day...
and I've been blogging for a year and a day.
151 posts doesn't make a post a day,
but it's a new angle every three days.
I shall now celebrate by updating my template.

Doggy paddle

The man of the house is slowing returning to his normal M.O.T.H.-like self.
He managed a short walk yesterday, to the Indian restaurant and back, = two flights of stairs and at least 20 paces.
And today he took a short drive in the car, delivering myself and girls to the swimming pool.
At the pool, Strawberry swam for the first time, and also lost a tooth, not literally, we found it, and Miss T practised her social graces, turning ditching into a fine art.
Waiting for the bus to take us home we saw a young Irish setter dashing across the busy main road in front of us. One car had to brake hard and swerve to avoid her. We rounded her up and carried her, as she had no collar to hang on to, into a nearby garage. There we borrowed a long strap for a make-shift collar and lead and then we called the local police.
Keeping in mind we are next to a busy main road late on a Saturday afternoon, a fact I have pointed out to the police, guess what they told us to do with her?

All still alive... just, but not the bear

Monday starts...
Monday ends...

For explanations about the bear

A bear with a sore head?

The first lot of anti-biotics didn't work,
so he's now on his second lot.
I daren't put a picture of him up,
I don't want to scare anyone,
and quite honestly the bear
looks in better shape.
Doesn't leave me much time for blogging,
but I'll post when I can.

8a.m. Friday

Left my work keys at home and had to walk back to pick them up,
but it was a beautiful morning for it.

"Glittery bits"

From the front and

from the side window of the car on the way home from riding today.

"There are bad times just around the corner,
There are dark clouds hurtling through the sky
And it's no good whining
About a silver lining
For we know from experience that they won't roll by"
Noel Coward

From now on no more doom and gloom from me.
I've shuk off that black doog
and my rosey specs are back on.
And one day I might explain the title
