"Glittery bits"

From the front and

from the side window of the car on the way home from riding today.

"There are bad times just around the corner,
There are dark clouds hurtling through the sky
And it's no good whining
About a silver lining
For we know from experience that they won't roll by"
Noel Coward

From now on no more doom and gloom from me.
I've shuk off that black doog
and my rosey specs are back on.
And one day I might explain the title

"They're out of sorts in Sunderland,
and terribly cross in Kent.
They're dull in Hull
and the Isle of Mull is seething with discontent.
In Dublin they're depressed lads,
maybe because they're celts.
For Drake is going west, lads,
and so is everyone el(t)se.
Hooray, hooray, hooray,
misery's here to stay.
There are bad times just around the corner..........." or are we just continuing to be cowardly ??? Anyway it really is good to hear that you're feeling a bit more yourself. I'm so glad. I don't know if I've ever told you my method of climbing out of the dumps ? I probably have, but here goes. I don't know if you'ld remeber Auntie Violet ? I always think that A.A.Milne's character Eeyore was probably based fairly closely on her. If anyone was feeling cheerful and bright she would inveriably think of something depressing to say. If it was a lovely morning she would explain that it couldn't last and would certainly rain before lunch. Well, if I'm feeling depressed I try and remember to do an Auntie Violet and tell myself further depressing things and generally push myself further below the surface until it makes me laugh and I have to bob up again and I realise just how daft I was being in the first place. She wasn't a real Auntie. I think she just helped Gran in the house during the war in return for being at Welney and away from the bombing. But Gran of course never lost touch with her. Anyway try it sometime, whilst never losing touch with the reality of the situation. As I said, I'm glad you've bobbed back to the surface. Much love, Pa and Granny.

Miss T. and I did a sort of reverse Auntie Violet (Teloiv Eitnua:
There must be well over 100 windows there and only 19 got broke.
Look another dead squirrel (could have been a squirrel shaped frisbee), well that should leave more nuts for the ones left.
This then lead on to inventing dirges for the squirrel's funeral... that cheered us up.

A black dog shared is a black dog halved. Some of my best friends have black dogs and I sometimes think they are an inevitable accessory to an artistic and sensitive soul.

I think you might be right, Pat.
I don't normally get the blues, but this Autumn has been tough.
