Looks like a similar situation to the waste-paper basket in which Dizzy Whithers found himself! At least she had the sense to take the paper out first.
I could say the untied shoe laces were to release the swelling as she was stuck, but unfortunately her shoes often look like that. I don't think she has time to stop and tie them, but she does make sure that the laces aren't dangling out so that she can trip on them, not that it will help the day she trips out of her loosely fitting shoes.

No Dear but he would have avoided becoming a fire hazard.
