Summer's here

Just two weeks left before our summer holidays start
and we already have the weather for it.
This is Sweden's northern most ruin stone.
The inscription is about 1000 years old.
It reads:
Ostman Gudfast's son
had this stone raised,
the bridge built
and allowed Jemtland to become Christian.

Is that stone one of the ruins that Cromwell knocked about a bit? Or are you already ruing your spelling of rune? Much love, your pedantic old Pa.

It's nice to see you're paying attention. Well done.

(Oooops... it must be the heat getting to me. It is in three pieces that have been stuck together, and there is also a filled-in hole in the middle of it, so it could be called a ruin.)

But you have only just been on holiday. What happens to the bears in summer?

Teaching does have it's advantages.
We get an 8 week long summer holiday, and the pupils get 10 weeks. Then there is a week at Easter, a week at half term and 2 weeks at Christmas.
We work hard, and the pay is not brilliant, but the holidays certainly make up for it.

The bears are all out picnicing. I'm not sure on what, but if this weather keeps up there'll be lots of wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries for them very soon.
