Phew!

The summer holidays have started, but we're not quite there yet.
I have four more days of work, and then the Midsummer celebration to prepare for.
End of term is always hectic, and this one has been no exception.

It's kind of difficult getting the horse and kitten to pose together, but here's the horse for you Pat.
Her name is Eloise and the rider is Strawberry learning to do a rising trot and preparing to dismount, taken this afternoon, during her last lesson until next term starts at the end of August.

Dear descendants, what absolutely super pictures these are!!!! My father would have been charmed by these photo's of his great granddaughter (and probably had them framed), and his father would have seen them as evidence that possibly the world is regaining its sanity ( he could never be entirely persuaded that the internal- or infernal- combustion engine might be going to replace the horse), and these pictures prove that it hasn't entirely. Does't Freja look confident ? What was the children's clothing shop in the High Street (The Elephant Plume) now houses a Company which calls itself Suffolk Saddlery. Granny saw a pair of PINK jodhpurs in the window this morning; and having called Granny to look at these pictures it was with the greatest difficulty that I restrained her from rushing out and buying them for our only equestrianly inclined grandaughter. In fact I only succeded by pointing out the fact that it is now nine p.m. so that the shop has been closed for the last four hours. In fact as Granny has just come down and read this, she says that she hasn't been dissuaded and can you let us have Strawberry's size and leg length? Don't worry, I will try and head her away from pink. Granny says Strawberry would love pink. Adjudicate please. Much love, Granny and Papa.

Both Strawberry and Eloise look perfectly at ease with one another and make a beautiful picture. Thank you so much.

Hi Granny and Papa,
Yes Freja loves pink, but she also loves pale blue slightly more at the moment, but this could change as could her leg-length as she won't be riding regularly again until September.

Pat,
She is very much at ease, unlike her mother who has seen her fall off twice this term. My stomach ties itself into a knot whenever they're told to trot. If she carries on, which she is determined to do, I'll have problems watching her canter let alone gallop and jump.
