June 6th, 20 years on

Today is a special day.
It is The Swedish Flag Day, which means we all get the day off school,
but it is also exactly 20 years since the M.O.T.H. and I met.
How and where will have to wait for another time as I have over 120 final grades to set in Art by tomorrow,
plus another 30 or so in English. I am nearly there, but I still have a bit more pondering to do.
Not easy, with the temperature pushing 30 C (somewhere between 80 and 90 F, I think) even at 8.30 p.m., sunshine and clear blue skies.
It's been like this for the last five days.

Happy Swedish Flag Day, I'm envious that we don't have a Union Jack Day. Never mind, at least we get to see many more English flags on St. George's Day than we ever used to. More to do with football than England and St. George I fear, but it is such a glorious flag. Makes me proud to have been a Crusader.
Bless you and Lasse on this special anniversary, I do love you both dearly - and I suspect I may love your little sproglets too.

I hope they have been happy years and will continue to be so.

Crusaders, makes me think of one of my favourite school hymns:
When a knight won his spurs....
Let faith be my shield and let joy be my spear, gainst the dragons of anger and ogres of fear...

I'm not sure where I've put my shield, but I still hold on tight to my spear. So, yes they have been happy years, hard work sometimes, but definitely happy. So much so, that we are considering re-newing our vows. We'll do it properly this time, no registry office but church with all the frills etc and then take a second honeymoon; well first really as we didn't have one twenty years ago. And seeing as Dad got off rather lightly first time around, I'm sure he won't mind footing the bill. Bali would be nice Dad, but we'd be quite happy with a short Safari perhaps to Botswana for the four of us?
Right, now I'll go and see if I can find that shield.

OOOh! How exciting! I'll bet the children are thrilled!

The children would love it, the frills that is, I would hate it. But I'd do it for a chance to visit Botswana. Obviously Dad has read my last comment and keeled over in shock. He hasn't updated or commented on anything since I posted this. Sorry Pa, I was kidding, honest!
