Spade handle

We have 4 days off, Ascension Day , Friday the day after and then the weekend. So we will be out in the countryside trying to sort the "garden" out. I did manage to de-moss my strawberry patch last weekend and dig over the herb garden using my favourite spade. The handle's cracked and worn but it still feels right.

And as an alternative to last weekend's European song contest,
which I try and avoid,
here is a little treat from
the Ukulele Orchestra of GB

Deepest respects to your venerable Spade-Handle. Perhaps a spot or two of Teak-oil or Linseed oil lovingly rubbed in with a drop of Turpentine to aid penetration might give another couple of generations the pleasure and privilege of enjoying the comforting and practical presence of Spartacus Spade. (It really looks heroic!)

Thanks crowbard.
You're quite right it deserves linseed oil and terpentine. I shall treat it next weekend.

That was charming. Oddly the singer who sang 'Life on Mars' resembled the actor in that TV programme - a little!
Every time I go to you tube I get 'close tabs' after and lose your site. Twice tonight!

welcome back Pat.
you're not the only one that has problems with youtube. I am going to try and have photos as well as film from now on, so you won't have to battle with youtube if you don't want too, and anyway the quality of what I can film with my phone is hardly worth it.
Swedish TV sent it, so I know what you mean about the actor.
