The third shepherd...

...acted her part perfectly at the school nativity play, appart from leaving her sheep(dog) on the stage and having to run back and fetch him. Big sister sang a medley of Christmas songs in English together with her class to finish off the end of term show on a high note.

Hi Ruth, please congratulate both your daughters and assure them that if we were geographically nearer they would both be awarded the grandparental pat on the head.
When I hear about nativity plays and medleys of Christmas songs sung in English it makes me wish more than ever that we were geographically nearer. Still, the photoes help, thank you.
Much love, the English grandparents.

How great to have a sheep - dog. Way to me!
Did you blub?

Crowbard said...

Hi Pi,
I didn't blub - but I might have snivelled a bit if I had been there! I'm frequently overcome with galloping lachrymosity of a sentimental nature.

There's something about the shepherd's crook that puts me more in mind of Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness....
but it's all part of the same grand story I suppose....
Loving blessings all,
GUC

Ma + Pa, pats on said heads will be dished out as soon as they wake.

Lori, thanks, and may you and yours have a joyful Christmas too, god jul och gott nytt ar.

Cazdok, it was, but not enough to make me blub, Pat, just enough to send a tingle up mine spine :)

GUC, we had to make do. The traditional tea towel on the head, and the same old stripey duvet cover that Miss T. used when she played Mary 2 years ago. Using elastic bands, we covered a cuddley black dog with bits of white fluff, and the crook was constructed from a broomstick, a coat hanger and some kitchen foil. With any luck the next play one of them is in will have a Biblical theme, and it can all be recycled. The crook and sheep could work for Bo Peep, I suppose, but I don't want to have to fix a dress for her, that would be way beyond my stitching up skills.

So it really was a wolf in sheep's clothing? No wonder it didn't follow Strawbs off stage!..... Cwm-Bai!
( er .. I think that's Welsh for something sheep-dogish.... )

Merry Christmas to everyone!
