The Fells

Just spent three days in the mountains with 70 teenagers and survived, in spite of storm winds, heavy rainfall, near sub-zero temperatures and lemmings everywhere, even in the tents.

I think all the teenagers made it too, but I kept losing count.

More pictures soon.

I'm lost in admiration of your hardiness, daughter. Glad you all made it.

Hopefully we did...I'll count them properly tomorrow :)

Miss T was in the mountains too, but not in the same part as me. The tent she was supposed to sleep in ended up with several inches of water in it :(

How long before there is a whiteout?

On our last morning, Pat, the rain that had fallen during the night had fallen as snow just a bit higher up. the mountains around us were white. And last weekend we had temperatures below zero, so it won't be long now before our first snow fall here in town. We're in the process of digging out our winter jackets, boots and padded trousers.
