Winter's here

It snowed last Sunday, but it didn't settle. Then on Tuesday evening it snowed again. The snow in town stayed until Wednesday morning, then the sun came out.

But out at the cottage the snow was still waiting for us. And the ice was several inches thick.

We left the Man in town to take care of himself, and the girls and I had a wintery weekend all to ourselves: baked potatoes, hot chocolate, skiing and Cluedo. Perfect.

Hello Nea...Is this the normal time for winter to start? You and the girls don't seem to mind! How is teaching this year? Hope all is well over there. I hear from your Dad regularly...he and your Mom are very sweet. Love his photographs.

Hello Nea et allia. Lovely photoes. I like the one of my two Swedish granddaughters clinging to an iceberg. It's a little worrying though. I hope they eventually made it to dry land ?

Good grief!!!! The temps down a bit here and Caz has the heating on full blast already! It's like living in a sauna!

I tremble to think what she'd do living there!!!

Wonderful photos, beautiful girls, but has anyone spotted the two characters frozen into the ice pyramid?

Hi Lori, yes it is a bit early, but we like it. The teaching is still fun, and your grand-daughter is fantastic, she's exchanging e-mail with 25 of mine, so for every one they write she writes 25. Please let her know how much I appreciate it.

Hi pa n ma, they're hoping for more ice and snow, so I'm not too worried about them.

There's plenty of saunas here 4D, that we can jump into when we get too cold.

Hi Tim, we need the snow. I've got to practice my cross-country skiing as I've just entered for a 30km race in February.

Pat, we love it. No mosquitoes and the world's best hot chocolate, "O'boy".

I missed them Crowbard...where?

Sounds like a perfect wintry weekend - and it makes me rather nostalgic for beautiful Sweden!
