Tearing down the house

I thought they would at least save the roof tiles and windows, but they are just ripping the lot down. The tree is still standing though.

Hi, Nea. What very sad pictures. I suppose we have to have progress, but they always seemed to me to be well built, pleasantly proportioned homes. With prices coming down steadily in England, I can't imagine anyone here daring to build expensive private property at the moment.Perhaps things are different in Sweden? As I say, though, sad pictures.

No, no different here. They say they won't build unless they sell two thirds of the appartments first. I can't see that happening.

It's always sad to see the end of a house. If it could talk what would it remember?

Part of it would remember my husband's teenage years, probably with a fair amount of trepidation!

I agree with Pat - it's always so sad to see a place that houses so many memories disappear. I've always found it so disheartening that once it's gone, it's gone. No reminders that it once stood, no tangible memories.
