Cold and still

Could the sky be any bluer? Temperatures drop to minus 20 C.

The view from my window this week, could look totally different next week as the buildings are to be pulled down... the tree will probably go to, but the company who own the land said this would all happen last Setember. So we'll just wait and see.

Shouldn't be allowed to pull trees down.

Give Swampy a shout. He'll stop 'em.

Whatever happened to Swampy I wonder?

Quite agree, especially in the middle of a town. Do you know why it's being cut down, Nea? It's not in anyone's way on the edge of a car park, surely?

The trees are still winning! there are more trees than people in Sweden by several orders of magnitude!
But of course every tree is precious and every tree is beautiful and no trees should be cut down in their youth or prime!

That is a truly wonderful view you have Pooh. Why not offer to buy the ground where it stands and seek funding from your blog reading public? I will chuck in a tenner if you go ahead.

It would be a shame to lose the trees - they look so delicate and whispy.
I know - why not climb up it and stage a protest. I'll be behind you - metaphorically:)

Thanks P'man, but didn't Swampy get stuck somewhere?

Ma'n'Pa, the tree isn't in anyones way at present, but that probably won't stop them. There seems to be no thought behind any of it. They had forgotten that our water supply goes via the houses that are being pulled down and now they have discovered that our heating is also connected.

Good idea GUC and Pat. I don't even have to climb it. I can just open the window and jump in to it and then you can all throw me nuts and fruit and things so I don't starve.

I seem to remember having problems getting you out of a tree a few years ago when you and your cousin Russell got stuck up an elm tree. I know this is a silver birch, and a good deal smaller, but if you need rescuing again I'm a good deal further away, so I think you really aught to reconsider your game plan in view of your track record.
