She's back...

Strawberry has returned. Here she is leading Ammelie back to her stall.
She came back and said she has become a Muslim and can now only eat muesli...

Well, that's a relief ! I'm so glad she's back. Not that I mind her running away or leaving home so long as she comes STRAIGHT to her English grandparents. Incidentally, one vegetarian in the family (her cousin Georgia) is quite sufficient. Much love, Pa and Granny.

Or do I mean mueselarian ??? Pa.

No Pa, if you eat muesli you're a mueslim. We're quite glad she's back too, we don't want her picking up any more odd habits.

Strawberry....what a beautiful horse. Happy to finally see a photo of you two.

Hi Lori, I thought you'd like it. I use my phone to take photos with and inside the stables it's not usually light enough, but this one more or less worked.

The remark about muslim and muesli reminded me of the comment that "arable land" is land tilled by arabs.
This year is dragging!

nice horse. I conned one into letting me sit on it once....

A muslim friend of mine adores kebabs. The inventor of Donner Kebabs died recently. I have no idea whether he was muslim.

Kebabs....horses....where is this going?

I think I'll shut up now...

I know I left a comment on how well her green velvet hat blended with the chestnutttish horse. Did you eat it?

Hi Preacherman -love your new atavar/icon/portrait/thingy!
If the inventor of Donner kebabs is now deceased will he become a Kebab donor? (Yum-yum!)Or will he just become an organ donor like the rest of we erstwhile canibals?

Thanks Casdok, I think so to.

Pa, I agree, but sadly her mother died last week and this has put her, understandably, into an offish mood. During Friday's lesson, she tried to throw Strawbs at least 4 times.

Hi Jake, hope the snowfall there has brightened things up for you:)

Pa, I wouldn't know, I'm still enjoying the infancy part;)

P'man, horse meat is sold in supermarkets here, it's called "hamburger" meat. I don't like to eat it, but the rest of the family enjoy it. I prefer reindeer and elk meat.

Pat, we do eat some strange things, sour milk, rotting herring, even beaver, but not hats.

GUC, what is a Donner kebab?
We have 2 kebab houses in town, and even the hot dog stalls now serve "kebab", but just plain "kebab" no mention of the "Donner".

Jake Allsop said...

The word is doner from the Turkish verb, donmek meaning to turn. The characteristic of the doner kebab is that it revolves on a verticle spindle as it cooks.
The o in doner should have an umlaut, ie it is pronounced to rhyme with learner (BritEng pronunciation). And that's all I know or want to know about doner kebabs.

Thanks Jake, now I know!
