Hi Pi, the toad is heftier, much wartier, and walks or sometimes hops, whereas the frog usually leaps. Also the toad, if approached by anyone (as it might be Nea with a camera), blows himself up to frighten her away whilst this creature looks comparitively slim and elegant. And (this is the clincher) Nea, being a Norfolk fenwoman, knows frogs and toads from soup to nuts, so if she thinks it is a frog, I'll give you good odds that that is what it is. Kind regards, Nea's Pa, Mike. (Beggar, that's blown my anonimity !!!!)
Touched by your faith Pa, but I hadn't even thought about it. Which might, I suppose, prove your point. The M.O.T.H has also pointed out that toads tend to be rather toad-like.... i.e. their heads look like they're a part of their bodies. The other thing is, I don't think a real princess would ever consider kissing a toad.

I got it! I got it!
How can you tell it's not a toad?

Oh, I don't know? Look at Diana and Charles. She turned into a real Princess.
And he turned into a bit of a toad.
Mike and Ann: I guessed!
Damn! I can't get the hang of this anonimity lark. Signed Microft and Angela - doesn't even look convincing, does it?
Err, not really.... it's a teeny bit late, Pa.
Well done Pat.
