From the Stone Age into the 21st century

Holidaying at home we are finding there are plenty of places to keep us all entertained. These photos were taken at a new museum in town where the military history of the area is represented. There was lots of stuff to keep the kids happy and the MOTH took a trip down memory lane.

Yes, I can imagine. Both your girls are looking remarkably like the chap in the sentry box, too (must run in the family). Is the museum in the old regimental H.Q. ? It should be.

Hi Nea! You sure make an effort to do neat things with the girls. Love the photographs.

The girls have great military bearing. We have the Red Arrows today.

I need ideas like these for how to entertain my three young grandsons (Invasion expected next week). I thought of a giant treadmill or the village stocks, but maybe a visit to our local Farmland Museum might be kinder. Enjoy your summer hols! Jake

Sadly Mike the museum is not in the old military buildings, they would have been perfect. It's a new site just outside town.

Hi Lori! I have tried to keep them entertained this summer, it's been fun finding places to visit that we have never been to in the area.

The Red Arrows are brilliant! I'm green with envy, Pat.

It's a bit late now Jake, sorry, but there's always Duxford.

Just seen the last Vulcan flying over - it is now in a private collectors possesion so I don't expect it will fly again. I think the only time they were armed and operational was the Falklands war, when they did one continuous round trip, refuelling in flight for a high-altitude bombing run on Stanley air-port to deny Argentina use of the run-way.
