Last weekend, with the temperature in the low twenties, a bike ride down by the lake was enough to cool us down.
This Thursday with the temperature just over thirty we had to get into the lake to cool off. We have had temperatures of between 20-30 for over a week now. For the poor M.O.T.H. it is too hot. With his own temperature just over forty and another course of anti-biotics whose side-effects are probably worse than the infection itself , he's not feeling his best.
On the bright side, I have finished grading and Strawberry has finally had her birthday party. Her birthday is in March, so it was about time. Now we just have one week left of term and then one more week of planning and after that eight glorious weeks of freedom.

This is where we were for the bloody school trip, a beautiful spot,
but watch out for the natives they're easily irritated.

Cooling off in the lake sounds just the job!
And 8 weeks of freedom does sound glorious!
I remember as a boy looking forward longingly to the summer school holidays, but it never crossed my mind that teachers might do so as well. Or possibly even more ardently than we did ??????
Hope M.O.T.H. is better soon. As for the end of term - everything comes to she who waits:)
Hi Casdok, it depends a bit on the lake, this one is a big, deep one so it's really cold. It's also supposed to be the home of the Lake Monster. There are smaller ones that are perfect for swimming in though.
Yes, M&A, no doubt about it, it's the best part of the job.
Thanks Pat. The anti-biotics seem to have done their job. He takes his last dose today, and he is definitely better.
