Powerless

This hydro-electric power station is not doing what it's supposed to be doing.

A beautiful sunny autumn day,

except for the strong wind that has brought down our power cables, see the trees in the background. We've got the woodburner to keep us warm, but no power for the water pump means no tea,

so we head back to town, past the lake we swam in this summer.

Back in town in time for riding this afternoon which included jumping and cantering for the first time. This was taken on the way home from riding, in the background the mountains are covered in cloud which is dumping snow not rain as the temperature gets close to freezing point here.

The wind was bad enough, but we woke to find it snowing this morning. We walked to school singing about our favourite things: snowflakes that stay on our nose and our eyelashes and it was true, well almost, it was the wind that was doing the biting and the snow was stinging.

Dear Nea, when you say the power station is not doing what it should, do you mean it is not supplying power to you because your lines are down, or that it is doing something utterly un power station like ??? Please elucidate. With love from your venerable pro genitors.

Exactly, it wasn't elucidating, at least not us. We are still in the dark as to wether it was electricking to do other things or not. But like the river across which it is built it is once again flowing with the current.
