A cat person
Mummy spends money on riding lessons and all they want to do is cuddle the farmyard cats.

And a very handsome ginger creature the cat is, too. Its whiskers rival your venerable grandpa's hirsute adornments. BUT -- horses are more useful creatures, and I personally prefer them, especially if your Mama is paying for their use. You will not, of course, have guessed who this is writing to you; so I will now tear my whiskers off(NO, not literally, what a catastroph that would be !!!) and reveal all. It is I, your Papa. Hi Pa Good to see you're back on line. To be fair, Strawberry was really good. She got a mean chestnut to start with, but she groomed him as instructed and turned him around in his box even though he was pulling her about all over the place. It wasn't a good start, but she got over it and rode well during the lesson.
Hi, family, glad to learn there's another generation of horsey types in the family. Got cousin Laura staying with us for a few days. Enjoying it. Well we are and she appears to be. See you soon, Pa.
