For the Autumn half term, at the end of October we headed south as far as we could. We needed a break after a long summer of sorting and clearing that was thrown to the wind when our house was broken into and trashed. Here are a couple of shots of the far south of Sweden.

Ruth - it looks beautiful! Is that a pack horse bridge?
How lovely, almost faery like!
I've never seen a double P.H.B.
I've a feeling there's one down in the West Country (quite near you) near the village of Horner.
Hello Ruth. If Pat calls in again please could you tell her that it's Allerford Packhorse Bridge on Exmoor that is double arched.
Oh what an ass I am:)
I must have seen that bridge dozens of times. How did I miss that is was double-arched? I wonder if Alastair noticed?
Don't worry Pat, I don't even know what defines a packhorse bridge?
Usually a very narrow bridge that a string of packhorses could cross, single file, but that any four wheeled vehicle couldn't. It's a means of transporting goods across rough country.
