Rainbow behind the wires

I took this from a moving car a few days ago. I think it's the speed of the car combined with the way the camera scans the object that makes the telegraph pole lean.

Sorry I haven't been around much... I shall try even harder from now on to stay on the ball, but I think somebody has greased it, plus the fact that I have a useless sense of balance.

An interesting shot!

Where's the rainbow - and then I embiggened it and voila!

Hi Pi, I like embiggened - it's a lovely word. I'm going to pinch it, by your leave. Regards, Mike.

Thanks Casdok, I took a few shots through the car window this weekend too, but I didn't see the mess a bird had left behind, which of course then appeared on every photo. Poo!

Of course Pat, I wouldn't mislead you about Rainbows hiding behind wires... my timing was a bit off on this shot.

Pa Ma, surely if you gain Pat's leave then the word is not pinched. And please Pat can I borrow it too.

Words, like ideas, are free - children of liberty - although one should be careful of taking the liberty of creating ones own words except in exceptional circumstances or where the word is an absolute cracker like 'embiggen' which is immediately apprehended by the reader. I suggest you submit it to Dr Johnson for inclusion in his dictionary as he likes to have it embigged occasionally to increase the royalties!

The best new (and quite spontaneous) word I ever came across was by a young lady we all know, who, in an essay she was required to write about a member of her family, described her grandfather (a large gentleman) not as 'corpulent', which she'd intended, but as 'porculent', which was much better. Ah, happy memories, Pa.

Quite right uncle, words should be free.

Sounds like quite a few porkies there, Pa ;)

Maybe, but the story is true. Love, Pa.
