No comment on your strawberry halloween pic, but I think it would be nice if you were to write something about your "favourite work of art". Go on, you know you want to!
Cheers

Hi Jake
Yes, I want to, but I'm faced with the same dilemma. Today it would have to be the birthday cake Tuva made for me, tomorrow it might be a Van Gogh or a Cezanne, maybe a Turner, but then I feel a Casper David mood coming on:

or perhaps one of the Skagen painters, or a Mark Rothko, or a van Eyck or van der Weyden, one of da Vinci's Virgin of the the Rocks? No, I can't do it. Sorry, and I haven't even got to Picasso. But you're right, it tickles me to think about it. Now I shall go and enjoy your blog.
Thanks,
Ruth.

I would have the same difficulty in picking out just one as my all-time favourite, Ruth. I suppose the test is this: if you were cast away on a desert island, which one picture would you want to have with you?
I can remember - shh, don't tell anyone - standing in the Prado in Madrid, my eyes filling with tears as I contemplated Goya's twin paintings, La Maja Vestida and La Maja Desnuda. The thought that filled my head and my heart was: "My god, how he must have loved her!" An old softie, that's me. Couldn't cope with that kind of emotion on a desert island...

Now if you took Goya's Third of May (? the one of the execution) you'd probably be quite content to stay on your desert island away from it all.
And anyway you took two, you said only one, so which would it be the one with or the one without?
I think I'll have Rembrandt's man with the gold helmet to keep me company, if I have to whittle it down to one.
